Hi John,
I am a rural librarian in a small town in Colorado, and our book club is discussing your book The California Roll tonight! I thought I would let you know that we enjoyed it and will have a lively discussion because of it. So thank you for writing it! More tomorrow after the meeting. ana

Hey John,

Just finished Lucy in the Sky. Man, did you nail that story. I would have been two years younger than Gene in 1969, and I thought I was reading about myself.

You walk the walk when it comes to writing. Great fun, clear as a bell voice, funny, scary, sad, poignant, confusing all at the same time (just like the '60s!). Pacing was incredible, loved the characters, all the good stuff.

And even after reading the book, I STILL consider you my fave "teacher" at the UWWI in Madison. :-)

I've just read Albuquerque Turkey and loved it. I would encourage you to write more books featuring the adventures of Radar Hoverlander.

BTW, you are not listed in either Wikipedia or iblist.com. You might want to add yourself to these so readers can find you more easily.

Thanks

Another shroud ebtade.. I don't understand why Christians get so caught up in Shroud of Turin, why are some Christians so eager to be skeptic of this shroud? And why are some so eager to prove the authenticity of the shroud? I don'[t understand either side. After all, it is Jesus we are worshipping. If the Shroud is a fake, it shouldn't affect us, because it is just a material thing. However, if it turns out to be real, then maybe it is God's way for 21th century Christians to eye witness the resurrection of Jesus, through the shroud..The latest developments of the shroud are: 1) in 2010 there are scientific research that shows the radiocarbon dating done in 1988 contains errors, because the samples were contaminated. 2) Scientists have no idea how the image got onto the shroud. It is simply one of the biggest puzzles in scientific research. (it will make sense if the image got onto the shroud during the resurrection, because it is a supernatural phenomenon).3) The pollen found on the shroud matches a special type that only exist in Jerusalem4) They used another artifact, that was supposed to be the cloth that covered Jesus' face (as mentioned by John), they took that cloth, and matched it with Shroud of Turin, and found that the blood stains on the two pieces of clothes matched well.5) They argued that the sample used for the 1988 carbon dating was from the corner of the shroud which belonged to the part of the repair done in the medieval era. In other words, the real shroud was used for dating.6) The weaving pattern of the shroud actually matches the 1st century Syrian method of weaving shrouds.so on and so forth..Look, I don't think Christians should so quickly judge if the shroud is fake or real. While it is an interesting artifact, but we should not worship it. However, I do think we should continue to study it, to see if it is real or not.

:I saw Studio Macbeth's Real Face of Jesus a few days ago and was very moved by their attempt to be fair and the high quialty of your research and artistic work. Your husband and the Studio's team members are to be commended for not only their artistry but for adding a new dimension to the Shroud debate. As a student of sacred art and a novice iconographer (I've been studying and painting icons for the last four years) I would be very interested in having the Studio team examine the icon that was painted in the sixth century by a monk of St. Catherine's Monastery in the Sinai Peninsula. Some research has been done on this subject (a fine review is found in the book: The Shroud of Turin A Case for Authenticity by Fr. Vittorio Guerrera TAN Books 2001). My point being that Fr. Guerrera shows that there are twenty details of the icon that are similar or exactly correspond to the Shroud of Turin. Would Studio Macbeth be able to take that Sinai icon and investigate it in association with the icon that they created using their technology? Would that examination provide additional information that would aid in your representation of the face of Jesus? Thanks again for your work and collaboration with the History Channel.Deacon Paul O.
